Sony launched PlayStation Portal last year as a Remote Player for its current gaming console, PlayStation 5. Now, the company has announced the same portable player for the Indian market. The PlayStation Portal features the ability of playing PS5 games over one’s home Wi-Fi and claims to deliver a similar console-level experience but in a portable form factor.
PlayStation Portal review and Specifications:
It basically looks like a DualSense controller with an 8-inch LCD display slapped on to form Sony’s handheld. This can be connected to the PlayStation 5 without any hassle and, by pressing its button, turn on the console remotely.
Then, users can start playing their favorite games on that gadget right away with minimal delay. The PlayStation Portal uses your home WiFi to give you the experience of console gaming without having you worry about having a TV for it.
The screen is FHD, with a refresh rate of 60Hz. It can play both PS5 and PS4 games; however, they need to be running on a PS5. However, the Portal does not support games requiring a VR headset, titles requiring peripheral gadgets, and games from PS Plus Premium streamed.
Haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are supported by the handheld, just like the normal DualSense Wireless controller. It must either be plugged in or on Rest Mode in order for the PS5 to pair with the Remote Player.
