This is by no means the definitive list. We have compiled it based on the software update policy of all Galaxy devices. It is important to note that the brand does sometimes provide additional Android updates or extend software support to specific devices.
After the S20 series, Galaxy S-series devices receive 4 years of OS updates. The most recent Galaxy S24 series increases the number of OS updates to a whopping 7.
As for Galaxy Z series devices, all Galaxy Z series devices launched after the fold 2/flip 2 devices are eligible for 4 OS upgrades.
Samsung also offers four years of Android software updates for the Galaxy Tab S8 series and all S-series tablets introduced after the Galaxy Tab S8. Additional Galaxy tablets can receive two or three updates to their operating systems.
Certain Galaxy A and Galaxy F series models are also protected by Samsung’s pledge to provide updates over four generations, although the majority of these models receive only two updates to their Android systems.
